SSAW Steel Pipe
Spiral submerged-arc welded pipe formed from hot-rolled coil — an economical route to large diameters.
ProductAPI 5LISO 3183AWWA C200EN 10219

Overview
SSAW pipe is formed by winding steel coil into a helix and welding the seam by submerged-arc welding inside and outside. The process produces large diameters from relatively narrow coil, which makes it a common choice for water transmission, low- to medium-pressure pipelines and structural piling.
Key characteristics
- Large diameters produced from hot-rolled coil
- Double-sided submerged-arc welded helical seam
- Weld seam inspected by ultrasonic and radiographic testing
- Supplied bare or with external coating and internal lining
Applications
- Water transmission mains
- Oil and gas gathering lines
- Structural and foundation piling
- Intake and outfall lines
Used in Oil & Gas, Pipeline Infrastructure, Water & Desalination and Petrochemical & Process.
