LSAW Steel Pipe
Longitudinal submerged-arc welded pipe formed from plate, for large diameters, heavy walls and high pressure.
ProductAPI 5LISO 3183AWWA C200

Overview
LSAW pipe is formed from steel plate — typically by JCOE or UOE forming — and welded along one straight seam by submerged-arc welding inside and outside, then mechanically expanded. The route supports heavy walls and high-strength grades, which is why it is widely specified for high-pressure trunk lines, offshore pipelines and heavy structural work.
Key characteristics
- Formed from plate by JCOE or UOE processes
- Straight seam welded inside and outside
- Mechanical expansion for roundness and dimensional accuracy
- Heavy wall and high-strength grades for high-pressure service
Applications
- High-pressure gas and oil trunk lines
- Offshore pipelines
- Large-diameter water transmission
- Structural columns and piling
Used in Oil & Gas, Pipeline Infrastructure, Water & Desalination and Petrochemical & Process.
